Delivery partners on golden slots may be slightly prioritised by the order assignment algorithm.
The number of riders online on a golden slot will usually be less than 20% of the total riders online Usually at least 80% of riders online are not on a golden slot.
Golden slots usually constitute only up to 20% of expected demand.
This means if we expect 42 orders in an hour and riders to do 3 orders an hour, only 2 golden slots are made. In this example, if the 2 golden slot riders did 3 orders each, 36 orders which equates to 85% of total expected orders are offered only to riders who are not on a golden slot.
The reason only a very small number of golden slots are made relative to expected demand is so that those on standard slots and those delivering when not booked onto a slot are still given a good distribution of orders by the order assignment algorithm.
Delivery partners on standard slots may be very slightly prioritised by the order assignment algorithm relative to delivery partners not booked on a slot.
Delivery partners are encouraged to deliver on or off slots as suits them. We regularly monitor and adjust the order assignment algorithm to make sure that those who choose to deliver when they are not booked onto slots are still given a good distribution of orders.
